Workshops
Starting a crossborder exchange of experience
To raise the interest in natural sciences among young students and to keep it awake is paramount not only for technology-directed enterprises but also for research institutions to recruit future generations of scientists.
Numerous initiatives have been launched in the past years. But is there still room for pupils´ labs or other „science-meets-school“ activities within the frame of the increasingly tightened education plans most schools are suffering from nowadays?
To make the initiatives match the demands and special conditions of schools, a continuous exchange between schools, those who offer special opportunities for pupils, and politics has to be ensured. Using the start of our project “South Baltic WebLab” as an occasion, we would like to look across borders and invite researchers, teachers and members of school authorities / ministries from the whole South Baltic Region to join us to discuss our different experiences and learn from each other.
